Aim One Marketing’s founder is Randy Aimone, an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Pace University who is Duct Tape Marketing’s first authorized tiny business coach in New York State.

Duct Tape Marketing is an international organization of coaches that work with small and tiny businesses on how to implement simple, practical and effective marketing techniques. It was founded in 2006 by John Jantch, the author of Duct Tape Marketing and prominent small business blogger.

Randy joined with Duct Tape Marketing in March 2009 after he became increasingly disappointed with the lack of legitimate small business marketing experts in the Hudson Valley. The well kept secret is that the way to market a small business with less than a $100,000 marketing budget is extremely different than how you ought to market a much bigger business.

First, many experts I have heard speak talk about ‘branding’ and ‘getting their name out there.’ Besides the fact that brands have less value than they used to, branding, even when it is successfully applied, can take up to 5 years to successfully generate new clients. The question Randy asks is: “what if you need to start working with clients sooner than that?”

Generating enough great clients inexpensively to grow their business to the point that a branding campaign is practical and wise is Duct Tape Marketing’s expertise. Duct Tape Marketing’s method of doing that is by installing a practical and proven marketing system into small and tiny businesses.

Secondly, many experts have a specific media product they are looking to sell. Maybe it’s websites, brochures, radio spots or bags with you logo on them, if you are selling a tactic, any problems tend to look like the story of the carpenter with only a hammer in his tool belt that started hammering in screws.

“I feel that it can become too strong of a conflict of interest, no matter the intent, that if you work for radio, to treat every problem as a radio problem.” What Mr. Aimone does not do is directly sell any services besides his marketing expertise. “I feel it can be very hard to give honest objective advice if you are selling directly any particular promotional tactics.”

Aim One Marketing’s ideal clients are one to ten person firms & independent professionals. Aim One Marketing works with a majority of their clients in a relaxed, small group setting of five to ten small business owners & key employees that meets every other week for five months. Furthermore, Aim One Marketing fully guarantees results from his courses. “I’m in the business of helping small business, if following the Duct Tape Marketing system does not generate more or better clients, I’m not helping them any by giving another bill to pay without cash flow to show for it.”

“I like to keep my groups small- It encourages creativity and openness, and it’s a really great feeling when you have five engaged minds all working together under guidance to help each other’s business succeed.”
